Are You Listening?

A haiku on the quiet wisdom of the body — and the cost of ignoring it.

Three lines. Read it once, then put your phone down for a minute and check in with your body. Then read it again.

Your body tells you
When to act and when to rest
Are you listening?

Most of the times I’ve been wrong about how I felt, the body knew first. Tightness in the chest before the worry surfaced. Heaviness in the legs before I admitted I was exhausted. The information was already in the building. I just hadn’t picked up the message.

I’m trying to listen earlier.
