Cosmic Connection
On the love that arrives without an explanation — and the small wisdom of not asking too many questions.
The truest love stories tend to lack good explanations. The poem is okay with that.
Why do you love me?
“I don’t know, I can’t help it”
How do you know it’s right?
“I don’t know, I just feel it”
These things of intuition
These little inklings
Where you just know
It goes beyond time
I feel like I’ve known you
For my entire life
“Maybe many moons ago—
you were my wife”
This cosmic connection
Of intertwined souls
Makes you wonder
What do we really know?
I don’t know. I just feel it. That answer would fail an essay test. It passes the only test that matters. Some knowledge doesn’t need to be argued for.
