Delicate Soul

On feeling everything at full volume — and the small ask to be handled accordingly.

Some people experience the world at a baseline. Others are tuned a little higher — every signal lands harder, every wave feels more like weather. This poem is from one of those.

When I feel
I feel deeply

When I listen
I absorb every word

When I cry
It’s like a downpour

When I’m happy
It’s like ecstasy

And when I love
I love with all my heart

So be gentle on this delicate soul
For I know no other way to be

If you’ve ever been told you’re too much — too sensitive, too intense, too easily moved — this is for you. You aren’t too much. You’re at the right volume for the kind of life you’re built for. The work is mostly finding the people who can hear you at full volume without flinching.
