Feelings Need Nourishment

Four lines on the forest inside us — and the quiet rhythm of acting and pausing.

A small one. Sometimes the work is to do something. Sometimes the work is to do nothing. The forest knows which.

Feelings need nourishment

Like the forest

Sometimes you need to act

Sometimes you need to pause

A forest doesn’t grow by trying harder. It grows by being patient with itself, by photosynthesizing in good weather and resting through the rest. We forget we’re partly the same thing.

If you’ve been pushing for a long time and something inside is asking you to stop, that isn’t laziness. That’s the forest knowing what season it’s in.
