Many Soulmates
A four-line reframe on the word *soulmate* — and the quiet permission inside it.
The word soulmate gets sold as singular. One per customer, never available again. This is the version someone offered me when I needed a different shape for it.
“But… she was my soulmate”
She was the one and now she’s gone
She smiled, “you’ll have many soulmates”
Some can be a day, others lifelong
Some soulmates are decades. Some are a single conversation on a flight you’ll never repeat. The word doesn’t measure the length. It measures the recognition.
If you’ve lost one — the long-form kind — there are more coming. Not replacements. New ones, doing different work, with their own running time.
