Still Scared to Crumble
Three lines for the 3am questions — and the small honesty of admitting we're still scared anyway.
Three lines. The late-night version of an entire philosophy course, compressed.
What if life’s a dream?
Does any of this matter?
Still scared to crumble.
The intellectual answer to “does any of this matter?” doesn’t dissolve the fear. You can read the philosophers, work through the arguments, decide it’s all meaningless or all profound — and still be afraid of crumbling. The fear isn’t logical and it isn’t going to get talked out of itself.
That’s the third line’s honesty. You don’t have to have it figured out. You just have to keep going anyway.
